[imp] Trailing dot in e-mail address

A user reported that mail they were sending was showing up in their
sent-mail folder but not being delivered to any recipients. After
investigating it turns out the contact list that she was using had an
e-mail address with a period/dot at the end of it (user at ednet.ns.ca.)

Fixing the bad address fixed the problem but is it normal for IMP to
just silently fail when sending an e-mail to an account with a trailing
period/dot ? IMP doesn't even send the message to /usr/lib/sendmail
(proven by tailing exim logs).

A Google search brought up this problem but in this case the e-mail
address was being translated to <@> .
