[imp] IMP stopped talking to send mail all of a sudden

Yesterday, IMP worked fine.  I've made no changes to the IMP code I'm
using.  Today, I get this error:
"There was an error sending your message: sendmail
[/usr/sbin/sendmail] not executable"

Here's the catch, I checked on the server and get this response for sendmail:
root at server54 [~]# ls -la /usr/sbin/sendmail
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root         8932 Sep 13 09:36 /usr/sbin/sendmail*

I'm going to try ssmtp to see if that fixes it, but I'd rather not
half-hack fix this.
