[imp] attachments and DB error (more info)

Ok, i recompiled php without memory limit, and changed the following in 
php.ini

  post_max_size = 12M
file_uploads = On
upload_max_filesize = 20M

and still get the DB error when trying to upload a jpg with 1.2 MB to imp.

is there any kind of limit in mysql for the file size?
