[imp] Horde/Imp latest refusing to save preferences with MySQL

Im using Horde 3 and Imp 4 packages configured to save preferences via
MySQL.
Ive created the database with the supplied script in mysql and checked the
user/pass/server/db name is correct in the config files but all preference
changes in both Horde and Imp including creating identities arent saved.
On manually querying the database all the tables in the horde DB remain
entry.

I cant see any errors on saving the preferences (in fact "options have been
saved" appears in horde) or in the horde log files.

Im using mysql 4.0.23, Horde 3.0.2, Imp 4.0.1, php 4.3.10-2.

The test.php for horde all passes OK except for MIME Magic Support and all
the Imp tests come back as ok.

Anyone got any idea where im going wrong setting this up?  I used original
Horde1 and Imp with sql without issues on a different machine.
