You didn't mention any versions, but if you are using Horde 3.X:

You can accomplish the same thing and keep pristine source code, by 
using the fullname and from_addr hooks.  Check out 
horde/config/hooks.php.dist for examples of code to set those items, 
config horde/config/prefs.php to use the hooks, and read some examples 
at http://wiki.horde.org/CustomizingPreferences.
