I know there is an issue with solaris and some versions of the gettext 
binaries (i think), but that probably doesn't affect the current issue.

Since all the code is there to properly convert the mailbox name to 
7-bit, and it works for everyone else, you are probably going to have 
to track down why the code is not correctly converting the name on your 
system.
