Just create a folder for each account you want to manage "separately".  
Configure Fetch Mail to download messages for each account to its 
unique folder.  Each folder would then represent an account.  In my 
opinion, it should be immaterial if you have 1 or 100 accounts.  I have 
three accounts, each filed into a separate folder and that has worked 
well for me.  Using multiple identities, if I reply to a message from 
any account, the proper From: address is used.
