IMP does sign messages in this way (i.e. IMP signs the entire
messages). But take this PGP signed message you just sent to the list
(and that I am replying to). mailman (our list software) appends a
footer to every message. And it does this for multipart messages sent
to the list by appending a whole entire part to the message, changing
the structure. i.e this was the message you sent to the list:
multipart/signed
But mailman has changed the message to the following:
multipart/mixed
multipart/signed
text/plain
The former will display a lock, the latter a paperclip. There's
nothing you can do about this. IMP is accurately reporting the
structure of the message.
