[imp] default search field?

In the latest version of imp you have the ability to set a default  
search field (which was really necessary cuz not having it confused a  
LOT of users).  Unfortunately where you'd expect there to be a text  
box beside the default field there is nothing (well there's the white  
X box on the other side of the table but no text field).  You have to  
either change the default or add a second search field for any boxes  
to pop up.  Is this a bug or do I not have something set up right?   
Without that textbox there by default beside the chosen default  
search field it'll confuse users even worse than before.
