[imp] Problem logging in from a blackberry

I get the login page; log in like I do from a Firefox/Netscape/IE browser 
on a laptop. What I get in horde.log is

Aug 03 23:49:30 HORDE [error] [imp] FAILED LOGIN 198.240.130.75 to 
metsny.yossi.com:143[imap] as francus [on line 247 of 
"/usr/local/apache2/htdocs/horde/imp/lib/Auth/imp.php"]

How can I narrow down what is failing; in theory I could be typing in the 
wrong password but it is unlikely I am making that mistake over and over 
again.
