[imp] Replying to HTML mail

We've been receiving numerous complaints about imp killing all the
formatting of the original message when replying to messages received in
HTML format, even after switching to HTML mode, the original format of rich
text is lost in the quoting.
The scenario is like A writes to B in blue/sans-serif type, B clicks reply,
the original quoted message is now black/serif and all the bold, italics
etc. are removed.

Is this by design? Is there a workaround?
