[imp] Login failing to imp 4.1.3

Using horde 3.1.3, php 5.1.4, apache 2.2. The test.php page shows that 
things are setup as needed. Mysql 4.1.22. Using imp to authenticate via 
imap.

Message I am getting in my maillog is:

Dec 27 14:31:06 metsny imapd[1858]: Command stream end of file, while 
reading line user=??? host=metsny.yossi.com [199.6.40.234]

When I log in to imapd directly (telnet to port 143) I can log in just 
fine.
