And you can use Kolab (www.kolab.org) for this which is supported by Horde, 
Linux (kmail) and MS-Outlook using various connectors. IIRC there is also a 
Thunderbird plugin (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/519).
