[imp] Login failed - Groupware Webmail Edition 1.1

thanks for your suggestions but...

there are no IMAP-Server log entries, when I login with IMP

and...
I even upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 and it did not help...

test.php says:
    * PHP Version: 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.1
    * You are running a supported version of PHP.
