[imp] purge doesnt seem to work right

I just upgraded to webmail-1.1.3 and everything went pretty smoothly  except that some of the databases didnt get upgraded with new tables.  I fixed all that and everything seems good except that when I purge deleted mail it doesnt redraw the screen without the purged mail.     
 I get a popup that says so many messages were purged but they still 
 show in the mail area.   If I logout and log back in the messages are gone. Is there a setting that controls this 
 somewhere?
