[imp] open at first unread message

Hello,
My university department has recently changed to the imp 3.4.4 web
interface, and I no longer have the option to have my inbox open at the
first unread message. It always opens at the first message. My browser
is firefox 2, running on a Centos 5.2 linux system.
Searching the list archives for this problem, I find similar behaviour
reported as a bug, and fixed, in 2005-6, but nothing more recent. I
have contacted the local computing officers who say that "Unfortunately
this is not an option with the new version of webmail. We're not quite
sure why the developers at Horde decided to leave that feature out."
Can this really be true? Can other users confirm whether they do or
don't have the option under imp 3.4.4?
The options menu still contains an item
Mailbox and Folder Display Options
Change display options such as how many messages you see on each
page and how messages are sorted.
but when I click on that item, I don't get any choices relating to
messages per page or sorting. Just
The From: column of the message should be linked:
Format of message dates in the mailbox view for messages dated today
Expand the entire folder tree by default in the folders view?
How should namespaces be displayed in the folder tree view?
Expand the entire folder tree by default in the sidebar?
Thanks for any advice,
Bernie
