That patch breaks a *LOT* of things.  Bad idea.

Someone needs to analyze and determine why this is happening.  Masking  
the effects is not a valid solution.

Are you using imapproxy?  If so, you need to make sure that ONLY one  
IMP installation is using it at a time.
