This time it is Dovecot 2.0.19 as shipped with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, the  
other server is Cyrus 2.4.17 which you have tested recently as  
working...
But as said after re-pairing it works again, it is only troublesome to  
update with existing ActiveSync user base :-(
