[imp] Server does not support TLS connections

Hello,
as of today we have the problem that after working for some time
Horde/IMP suddenly log "Server does not support TLS connections" for
connections to the IMAP server, which is obviously false because it
worked before and the IMAP server does indeed advertise and use TLS
like this:

server ready\x0d\x0a
but the connection from the webserver is always closed (FIN,ACK) after this.
Horde/IMP then tries with around 20/s to connect to the IMAP server
constantly blasting the log with
