Okay, well, to me that would indicate that your machine is only allowing
SSH2, while the java applet only supports SSH1, and hence the connection
can not be established.

Solutions:  Allow SSH1 fallback on your SSH server, or upgrade to an
applet that supports SSH2.  
 
AFAIK, the ssh plugin in jeta only does SSH1 (okay, so that should be in
the docs).
