Try something like this in conf.php:

$conf['calendar']['params'] = array
('phptype'=>'mysql', 'hostspec'=>'localhost', 'username'=>'hordemgr', 'password'
=>'XXXXX', 'database'=>'horde', 'table'=>'kronolith_events');
