Feature Request

Hi,

Been using Horde/IMP/Kronolith/Nag as a replacement for MS exchange
and Outlook2000. So far very impressive.

I'd like to request that the "goto window" is placed permanently on
the kronolith display, (as you can select in outlook) to enable easy
navigation between weeks.

I'd dearly love to code this myself but lack any understanding of PHP.

Comments?

Ahmed...

Why do you want this? You don't need it always but if it's always visible,
it wastes space.

Subject: Re: [kronolith] Feature Request

Jan,

My coleagues and I make meeting notes and reminders which can be a
long time in the future, having the navigation open at all times
makes life simpler especially when using the phone at the same time.

We also use calendars to track previous meetings (and where each
person is) as well as using the calendar as a crude journal entry
system, having the navigation always visible helps.

I appreciate that space can be lost, I'd suggest either

1. an exact outlook-type look (restricted space)
2. the navigation "window" is placed above the main week calendar
main window, preserving the spacing
3. a persistant floating window (awkward if the window blocks or goes
behind the main window)

for the sake of those that do not need this type of layout I'd
suggest making the appearance an option.

Hope this help explain my reasons....

Ahmed...

I've reverted the if statements, and changed the sql driver (and table script)
to use all lowercase field names. Thanks!

Subject: kronolith.sql and postgres

When I try to setup kronolith using postgresql with

psql horde < kronolith.sql

I get the following error message(s)

ERROR: Bad timestamp external representation '0000-00-00 00:00:00'

It appears that postgres does not like 0000-00-00 00:00:00. I can't seem
to find anything about this is the postgres docs but I think the reason
is that it is an invalid date. The most minimal change I can make that
postgres accepts is 0000-01-01 00:00:00. I've done a quick grep on
kronolith code and can't seem to find the default anywhere so I'm
guessing the code doesn't (yet) rely on the default value?

Also I'd like to work on implementing shared calendars in kronolith -
I've had a look around and found horde/lib/Category and
horde/lib/Group.php which look like they might be about sharing horde
data (calendar, tasks, addresses, etc). Any other docs or stuff I should
be aware of before I start hacking.

Correct. It's only there to make sure be have any timestamps at all in the
table.

The group/category stuff is work in progress. So the code will probably
change and break things and documentation is only in the sources.

Try what I just committed to CVS; I'm fairly sure that NOW() is a pretty
universal sql function, so it should make a better default.

Just that I've been cleaning all of it up a lot, and the Category stuff is
getting there, but the Group stuff is going to change a lot still. So hack
away, but keep in touch. :) (you can find a few of us usually in #horde on
irc.openprojects.net)

OK that's cool - it didn't like the addition of # $Horde: $
Could you wrap /* */ around that?
