I'd just like to add my agreement...the company I work for does database &
pim/email-type synchronization, and that's /all/ we do.  and the complexity
is enormous; disgustingly so.  if I understand it right, syncml just defines
a go-between xml standard for storing standard database information like
contacts and calendars, but implementation is a [strenuous] exercise for the
user.
