BTW, in case anyone is wondering, I've
placed my recycle schedule in a family
calendar. I kept forgetting what I had
placed outside the previous week :) 
Where I live, we recycle glass and metal
every other week, paper and cardboard
the weeks in between.

I think you can schedule an event to occur every "x" weeks. If you can, 
scheduling the event to occur every 2 weeks should do what you want. Just
set 
the start date for the first event for this Wednesday, and the start date
for 
the second event for next Wednesday.
