[kronolith] Compare to calendar function from Xchange server

Dear All,
One of our bosses regards the calendar function offered by MS exchange
server as super and intended to move our exisitng mail system running
sendmail on Sun Sparc to exchange server running on MS Window2003 in
order to use this function.
Please help me to answer the following questions:
1) Can I run kronolith and horde libraries alone?
2) What's the function offered by kronolith comparing to calendar
functions offfered by Exchange server?
