Chuck,

I did notice that as well as the "." at the end of the error message. Does
this imply that I should set either arg_separator.output and/or
arg_separator.input in the php.ini. If yes the what should those directives
look like?

Ah, right. Slightly wrong answer the first time: you can't pass GET
arguments on the command line. Just doesn't work that way. Note the filename
it's giving you.
