[kronolith] Reminders - When are they initiated?

Can anyone tell me with <when> 'day' and 'week' reminders are designed to be initiated?

I have hourly reminders working fine, i.e. I have an event in the future with  say, 12H reminder and I get the reminder
as expected.

However, if I set  an event for, say Wednesday (and today is Monday)  with a one day reminder, I don't seem to get the
reminder until Wednesday, whereas I would expect it on Tuesday. Similarly for weekly reminders.

Is this by design or am I doing something stupid (:<)
