[kronolith] Kronolith stores data but does not display

I installed kronolith (for the first time ever) without any problems.
Insertion of an appointment works well. I can see the new rows in the
mysql database, but nothing is displayed by kronolith. The log shows no
obvious problem. What is wrong, how can I debug this?
