So if we lock the prefs

$_prefs['daily_agenda'] = array(
    'value' => '',
    'locked' => true,

    'type' => 'enum',

I suppose that I don't need to use reminders.php

Could you confirm Jan?
Anyway, it's just runing once a day. But if you forgot an old setup in
crontab which is starting reminders every 5 minutes, that could be a
killing app. As I said, I needed 1 GB memory to run.
