[nic] Network Status is being difficult.

I've been trying to get "Network Status" working and have added what I believe
to be the correct configuration in devices.php, prefs.php and conf.php throught
the interface.  Everything else seems to work as expected in the module.  I even
added a status = true to configurations that didn't have it and no luck.

I see no errors anywhere, logs screen.  This is head version from this morning
although in this case I don't think there have been modifications for a while. 
I do have snmp running although the checks for apache, dns, smtp, pop, imap, etc
shouldn't need it.

I used to use this and never had a problem.  It never ceases to amaze me at how
quickly, I can forget configuration details, which is probably what is
happening now:(

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be would be appreciated.
