Quoting Gustavo Verduzco Vazquez <gustavo@isp.co.cr>:

> <username@some.domain.com>: Command died with status 1: "/usr/bin/vacation
> username". Command output: vacation: .vacation.db: Invalid argument

Currently vacation just creates an empty file for the .vacation.db file.
Some (your) vacation program don't like this. You can fix this for yourself
by doing an "vacation -i" command (see your man page for more info) in your
account as yourself. But this is on the todo list to fix.

> What can be wrong now?

Deficiency of the module. On the todo list to fix.

"TAD (Technology Attachment Disorder) is an unshakable, impractical devotion
to a brand, platform, product line, or programming language. It's relatively
harmless among the rank and file, but when management is afflicted the damage
can be measured in dollars. It's also contagious -- someone with sufficient
political clout can infect an entire organization."
