Yes, it does use getFormData() for the form data.  So this should indeed
be true.

Any other ideas on why he's seeing the quoted behaviour?

I'm at a loss.  I don't think we ever treat the info specially at
any point in vacation.  So I don't know where it could be introduced
inside vacation...
