[sork] Forwards with vsftpd very slow

I'm configuring a fresh install of Horde/Imp/Mnemo/Forwards
When setting and unsetting forwards it takes up to three minutes to load the
page.  I have checked the ftp server by logging in from the local machine, and I
have flushed the iptables.  By watching netstat it seems that some ftp
connections hang.  When they time out the page loads.  Any idea why this happens?
