[sork] vacation and .forward file

Hello,

I am having trouble with the .forward file on my mail server. When I tail 
the syslog I see that the vacation program runs successfully. However I do 
not get a return mail with the vacation message. The syslog message appears 
like this:

There is no messge recorded in /var/adm/messges. Can anyone help me 
understand what is going on please.
