[sync] SyncML Status

Hello!

First off: This is my first mailinglist post here, so please be kind if I
violate any rules... :)

As i could read in several Posts in the archive, the status of the syncml
features is somekind of diffuse... Some seem to have it working - others
not... Ist not ready for the enduser - thats ok, i dont wanna stress anybody
:-)

Is there a howto pending about how to get it working (assuming that some of
you already managed this)?


WHAT I WANT:
I want to keep using Outlook as my standart PIM and sync it using sync4j
with horde for getting access from anywhere when beeing mobile. (Most
important is the calendar, second the contacts) Additionally, I want to use
all the centralized stored data in horde for syncing with palm, cellphone
and so on.


HOW I CAN HELP:
I am php - developer (skills are difficult to describe, but should be ok...)
and could spend some of my little freetime to fix some bugs...  But i am not
familiar with this community, who leads the syncml - section, how everything
is organized. Would be nice if someone would take the steering wheel, set up
some little roadmap for the syncml - stuff and organize it's fast
realisation :-) (Please forgive me if this is already done and I just didnt
see it!)
