Hmm. Strange. I saved your wbxml file as k500i_client_0.wbxml
and tested it locally with curl like this:

curl -H "Content-Type: application/vnd.syncml+wbxml"
--data-binary @k500i_client_0.wbxml
http://myhost:80/horde/rpc.php

Worked like a charm. Created a nice correct syncml_client_0.xml (totally 
different from yours) in tmp/sync and did everything as expected.

Do you use a cvs head version of the XML_WBXML and RPC packages?
