This looks suspicious. Are you sure you don't get any PHP errors? How  
*does* the logged server response look like? And can you see if this  
is really what's transferred over the wire?
Finally, can you try a recent CVS snapshot instead? A lot of SyncML  
fixes have been made since the last RC.
