[turba] LDAP and non-english characters

Hi,

Im having problems with Turba and names that contain non-english 
characters (like ä,ü,ö). When I try to copy these entries from my 
personal addressbook (sql based) to a shared LDAP addressbook Turba 
shows me this error:

Failed to add Jüri to Shared Directory: Failed to add an object: [34] 
"Invalid DN syntax" 
(attributes:[a:2:{s:2:"cn";s:10:"Jõri";s:11:"objectclass";
a:2:{i:0;s:3:"top";i:1;s:13:"inetOrgPerson";}}]).

In Turba config LDAP charset is set to UTF-8.
Is it supposed to be UTF-8 or something else? What else can be changed 
to make LDAP work with non-english characters?
