It's probably also worth explaining my motivation to work on this now:  
Horde not getting into SoC this year. The reason given was basically  
that our ideas list was too spartan - no further reading, no  
resources, no mentors listed, no degree of difficulty (I don't think  
we need *all* of these for *everything*, but we really had a paragraph  
each and nothing more).

I'm hoping that this list can be both a good list of what's going on  
in Horde and what people would like to see happen, and a richer list  
of ideas for next year's SoC and anything like it.

Further ideas are most welcome.
