I think that may be the problem.

Aspell .50 and higher have the html parsing features built in.  Before that
doesn't.  My version was .33.7.1

Is it possible to specify in the config screen that you need aspell .50 or
higher for it to work correctly?

I am downloading the newer version now and will verify if this takes care of
the problem.
