I have Solaris 9 with aspell 0.50.3.  I was able to modify the following
French text slightly and aspell correctly found the errors I had added, but
_fails_ to update the text when I return to the compose screen:

"Tous les êtres humains naissent libres et égaux en dignité et en droits.
Ils sont doués de raison et de conscience et doivent agir les uns envers
les autres dans un esprit de fraternité".

I'll upgrade aspell and re-test.
