The UI only appears to only be capable of showing dates from this year
onwards. In the event that one of the previously selected vacation
dates was last year, for example "December 31 2017" - then if the
current year is 2018 it will display "December 31 YYYY".
When the user logs in and clicks "save and disable" to disable the
vacation message on January 01, it will then give an error message,
making it impossible to disable the vacation message without editing
the date again.
Currently, the workaround is to set a new vacation date within the
current year, then save and disable.
