  Log:
  Switching from showing unsubscribed to showing subscribed presents all sorts
  of subtle problems with when to show expand/collapse graphics.  Hopefully,
  this new code handles this correctly (this should fix the bug of subfolders
  not having expand/collapse icons that many people were seeing).
