libtool-1.4 is still riddled with Linux-isms, so it doesn't seem to
perform too well on the BSDs - on OpenBSD, I gave up and just did a
'cp -r' to copy the PEAR tree over.  Works fine.  There are folks
working on getting libtool working, so hopefully it'll resolve itself
soon.
