I just wanted to remind folks that there is a #horde IRC channel in
irc.openprojects.net. I generally monitor it during the day, and one or two
other folks are usually idling, but there isn't much traffic. I'll also put a
notice on the web site.

Ok, I just figured out that the French translation caused some problems with
800X600 resolutions ... Top bar options would not fit on one line, so ppl had
to browse horizontally to see all the page. Annoying =)

I changed the transaltions so that text would fit on one line. So here it is.

Subject: PEAR dsn parser bug in DB.php

Chuck, I think I ran across somewhere that you work on PEAR. Nonetheless, I
might be incorrect, but I was playing with some stuff, and it appears that the
parser for a DSN can cause problems if the @ character is in the password.
Instead of using the first @, I believe that the strrev() function should be
used instead to find the last occurence of @ and parse from there. For example,
having a password of something like ch@rlie would cause problems for a dsn of
mysql://chuck:ch@rlie@localhost
The current code would cause the dsn parser to use 'ch' for the password and
rlie@localhost for the hostspec.

Here is what the code looks like:

line 462-471

if (($at = strpos($dsn,'@')) !== false) {
            $str = substr($dsn, 0, $at);
            $dsn = substr($dsn, $at + 1);
            if (($pos = strpos($str, ':')) !== false) {
                $parsed['username'] = urldecode(substr($str, 0, $pos));
                $parsed['password'] = urldecode(substr($str, $pos + 1));
            } else {
                $parsed['username'] = urldecode($str);
            }
        }

I propse that line 1 of the code above (line 462 in /lib/php/PEAR/DB.php) be
changed
to:

if (($at = strrpos($dsn,'@')) !== false) {

This would simply mean that it will take all the text before the last @
character instead of before the first. Domain names can never have an @ symbol,
but passwords can, so I see this as a reasonably thing to do. I personally
tested this before the patch with the password p@ssword and it failed, then
after applying the fix, using p@ssword as the password worked.

Maybe this shouldn't be posted on horde list, but whups is the only thing I've
seen that uses a dsn url. So this would resolve any future problems that some
may have with whups. What is the PEAR dev lists anyways? I have too many
windows open to goto php.net ;)
