Chuck, if this were a preference, would you consider committing it to CVS?
I get quite a few complaints from confused end users who would like to
have this feature turned off.  And I would like to turn it off so that I
will not hear any more whining from them... Perhaps Joel can move it to
preferences easily, I've not looked at it so I don't know.

The issue is not that they can be cleared, but rather attempting to do the
queries across slow links, so having to clear the results every time is a
pain. Consider trying queries on a really large Turba distribution list
across a modem link and I bet you will quickly wish you had this in
preferences.
