Ah, then in this case, I can see version matching being needed...
Unfortunately the Horde distribution methods don't lend themselves
to inforcing this...
Could dimp/test.php and mimp/test.php somehow test for a compatible
IMP version, and provide instructions if it isn't correct?

Since they have separate CVS, web pages, tarballs, etc. this is bound
to cause confusion. I can't think of any way to resolve it though except
maybe via the above test.php method or similar (e.g., the code that checks
for configuration files being setup could also check versions maybe?)

I can see that, but we need to document that if so, and get used to calling
them "views" or "add-ons" or something instead of applications, modules,
etc.

I'll let others comment on that idea. I have no strong feelings either
way. But I do share in the confusion...
