debug/trace for PHP?

After spending this weekend trying to learn as I went on install and
scattering system calls to a logger in all the code, I was wondering
if there was a debugger or truss equivalent for PHP.

It's like going back to splattering hundreds of printfs through files
by hand after using a decent debugger. B^(

Thanks.

There are a bunch in various states - just search the php list archives or with
google. There's also a debugger as part of Komodo (activestate's IDE) that
looks decent.
