Login problem

Details about my setup

        OS		     : Both RedHat 7.1 and Mandrake 8.2 (Dual Boot)
			       on the same machine
	Apache Server version: Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer/1.3.20
        PHP Version          : 4.1.1
        mysql  Ver 11.15 Distrib 3.23.46, for pc-linux-gnu (i686)
        Horde                : 2.0
        IMP                  : 3.0

     * FTP Support: Yes
     * Gettext Support: Yes
     * IMAP Support: Yes
     * LDAP Support: Yes
     * MCAL Support: Yes
     * Mcrypt Support: No
     * MySQL Support: Yes
     * PostgreSQL Support: No
     * XML Support: Yes
&..............................     
     * PEAR - Yes
     * Mail::RFC822 - Yes
     * Log - Yes
     * DB - Yes
................................

I Setup with all the latest available packages.
But the only Ultimate problem I got is that 
I couldn't Login into either of HORDE system
or the IMP system.

I used the DB scripts given along with the Horde distribution


neither could I login to Horde/IMP system as a ROOT
nor as one of the LINUX user nor with the 
horde/horde.

I will be very greatful if some one could guide me through.
I saw the previous message suggesting to use INSERT INTO.
Kindly describe how to proceed with INSERT INTO.
