Francis,

a total step-by-step howto is a bit beyond what this list is dedicated to
do....

But here is some information:

1) read the faq to get an idea of the horde project and the prerequisites
you'll need:
http://www.horde.org/faq/admin/

2) generally speaking, you'll need a webserver with php4 and some specials
depending on your situation (mail server, database...) - and, for you already
have got this, you should be familiar with it.... or willing to learn much,
mostly teaching yourself.

3) simply download the apps you want from http://www.horde.org/download/ and
expand it to a dir of your webserver (not the worst idea to have a dir
/horde with horde itself in it, whilst all apps residing in subdirs of this, e.g.
/horde/imp). Another good idea to start with one stable app (e.g. imp) and
swith over to recent cvs versions later when having an idea of the whole
construction.

4) within the downloaded files you'll find some docs and install hints. In a
brief, there are a couple of config files to edit to suit your needs (not
so many - as a beginning two for horde, two for imp....). Furthermore, as
database connection is desired, you'll find some scripts which will help you
setting up the correct database/tables.

Depending on your knowledge, a basic install might be very fast.

After this, don't hesitate to raise any more questions.

Kind regards & best effort,

Sebastian
